Pedro has been teaching and training Credit Risk, Finance, Private & Wealth as well as Regulatory courses in Europe, Asia, North America, LATAM and the Middle East, since 2014. He has been consulting and training for numerous international groups, including governments and central banks: HSBC, Credit Suisse, Banque Saudi Fransi, Credit Agricole Group, London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Borse Group, Bank of China, Citigroup (US/Global), TECOM Group, British Government, Cuban Central Bank, Fitch Ratings Group, Moody’s, Informa Group (IFF/IIR), FSTP, BPP University, RedCliffe, LIBF – London Institute of Banking & Finance, Kaplan, Central Bank of Egypt, Egyptian Baking Institute, Saudi Government, among others.

Pedro has an extensive working knowledge of the European (UK, Portugal, Spain, Italy) market as well as some interaction with Portuguese speaking countries in Africa (Angola and Mozambique) but also South Africa and Latin America (Brazil and Mexico) having consulted and delivered technical advanced subjects to all levels of audiences in all geographies. Pedro has actively engaged with regional as well as global/large multinational banks and other groups in consulting and design of new and tailored class room based courses, seminars, conferences, briefings and e-learning material. Pedro’s ability to simplify and illustrate even the most complex of topics, results in him receiving consistently excellent feedback from his clients as well as recommendation from those involved.

Prior to joining the global consulting and training world, Pedro’s work experience is 30+ years of which over 20 years in banking, namely with the Barclays Bank Group (10 years) and 3 other Portuguese International Banks where he held several positons raging from Corporate Banking Relationship Director, Advisor to the CEO, to Co-Market Head of Risk and Co-Head of the Corporate Banking with P&L responsibility as well as for client coverage across the entire country, risk decision making and for the entire country’s portfolio and also responsible the Derivatives and FX Desk and client portfolio management team.

He specialized in taking decisions on Large Corporate and SME customers with some of the highest turnover in the bank, on their creditworthiness, approving their credit deals’ structure, including project finance. Expert at identifying potential problem accounts/clients at an early stage and recommend appropriate remedial action to minimize credit losses. Early referral, restructuring expert as well as stress testing / implementation expert. He also handled the implementation of many other internal projects.

Pedro is a Specialist Professor in Business Management/Financial Management (PhD) and holds an MMBA from Católica Porto Business School and a Master’s in Business Management from ISAG – European Business School. Pedro also holds a Postgraduate in Advanced Banking Management from Católica Lisbon Business School (JV with INSEAD faculty), a Postgraduate in Leadership from HBS – Harvard Business School and a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Sloan School of Management.

He is a Chartered/Certified Accountant, a Certified Economist and an Internationally Certified Coach. Pedro regularly speaks at international conferences on banking themes, Fintech, international regulation and continues to publish several articles on economic and financial subjects in Business/Finance daily/weekly newspapers and comments regularly on online news media. Pedro speaks a number of languages including English, Portuguese, Spanish and some French. He also understands Italian.

As the leading partner with RISC Institute in the Banking, capital markets and securities domain, Pedro has delivered a number of workshops and courses for RISc's banking clients coming from Mena region and Africa for Board of directors and senior executives on Strategic leadership, corporate givernance, risk and compliance.
